I enjoy the uniqueness of it all. It's a pretty fun game. I've never really played a game like it before.
It is fun to a level that I felt alright with my kids watching me play. This game is very fun and entertaining. I recommend this game to anyone who has a little of a bad side that wants to get out. I like this game because it lets you be evil without being too out of control. You are the Overlord, the embodiment of evil. You will find more gore and violence in a lot of other first person shooters than you will in Overlord. It did not take an extreme amount of time to complete, but it is long enough that it keeps your attention and makes it fun.
The creators were great at adding a lot of humor into this game. My only complaint is that at some points it seems too easy to defeat enemies. You control minions which look and act like Gremlins. Ok, with the warning out of the way, I will let you know about the game. If you love being a little mischievous and evil, then this game is for you. Send them to do your dirty work for you as you plunder the land and wreak havoc among sheepies.
Although it sounds bad being evil, the creators have captured being evil in a fun way. You do however have to go through the game unlocking all four types of minions, each with different powers, to solve puzzles. Warning, this game is addicting. It is up to you to punish all of the good creatures and people of the land. Journey through the land solving puzzles and going on quests to increase your spells and upgrade your armor and weapons.
I was vastly amused wathcing my hordes run around sacking villages and eating sheep. I would recommend this game and think it is a unique addition to anyones game library. I thought this game had a good mix of fun and humor. But like anything, it get old after awhile.
Amusing dark humor, fresh concept, and some of the most amusing gameplay I have found in years. Overlord Rocks.
It has some well written dialogue that is humorous and witty at times. There are 4 different types of goblin like minions to do your bidding and each one has a different ability. I don't have really anything negative to say about this game except that it appeals to the female gender so i don't get to play it as much as i want to. This is no doubt a wonderful game. Hurry up and finish it so you can pre-order Overlord 2. Your main character has some basic attacks and a few spells but its the army you control that really steal the show here.
But seriously it worth experiencing for yourself. This is the only game i've played where my girlfriend stole the controller and didn't give it back. It has some simple controls that allow you to sit back and watch your little minions sack and pillage the local peasants and their goods. The graphics are colorful and pleasing to the eye.
